Known worldwide as Zap Mama, Marie Daulne redefines the term vocalist. Creatively expressing sound and storytelling with tone and pure voice, Marie is a sonic stylist. From Belgium and Congo, she seamlessly blends African, European and American musical styles into eclectic arrangements of modern sound. Expanding upon American Soul, Jazz, Afro-beat and Pop-world music Marie creates a genre that connects the citizens of the world. Her current reinterpretation of A‘cappella music is a rich palette of musical styles, including Urban, Afro-scat, World and Alternative Funk, also called «Collective Vocal Groove».

Zap MamaThe new Zap Mama album includes an A’cappella cover of «GETAWAY» by EARTH, WIND & FIRE, features the legendary SLY & ROBBIE on drums and bass, the lyrics of ABIODUN OYEWOLE of
THE LAST POETS and the vocal groove of BAUCHKLANG; a group of master beat boxers from Austria.
The tracks have a timeless vibe with a modern sound, pleasing music connoisseurs of Urban, World, Alternative, Latin, A‘cappella, Nu Soul, Jazz, Beatbox, Dub, Reggae and Hip Hop.

Continuing to inspire audiences worldwide, Zap Mama’s style also nurtures a new generation of vocalists and beat-boxers. This album is a catalyst for Marie’s new project: the Vocal Flash Mob Concert.

By engaging the entire audience with interactive vocal parts, this experience invites everyone to sing and create a larger resonant voice. Marie Daulne also offers vocal master classes and has established the World Music Choir to encourage fans and vocal enthusiasts in cities around the globe to sing.
